THE HEART OF CENTRAL TILLAMOOK COUNTY

Tillamook is the largest city in Tillamook County and the county’s commercial and governmental hub.

The city is home to the offices of the City of Tillamook at the City Hall, Tillamook County government, headquartered at the County Courthouse, Tillamook County Fairgrounds, the Tillamook Pioneer Museum, the county’s main Post Office, the main branch of the Tillamook County Library, Tillamook County General Hospital, Tillamook Bay Community College, and Tillamook Family YMCA which serves the entire community with recreation programs and facilities. Just south of town is the Port of Tillamook Bay, which is home to the Tillamook Air Museum, an airport, railroad, industrial park, Tillamook School District #9 administrative offices, the Tillamook County Sheriff’s Department and jail and the offices of the Oregon State Police.

North of town is the Blue Heron French Cheese Company, the Tillamook County Creamery Association’s cheese factory, which attracts up to a million visitors a year from around the world. Also just to the northeast of town is Latimer Quilt Center, another popular tourist destination.

Major events in the community each year include the Taste of Tillamook County in March, the June Dairy Parade and Rodeo at the fairgrounds in June, the Tillamook County Fair in August and the City Christmas Celebration in December.

The City of Tillamook is experiencing a rebirth through the investments of local business and the commitment of Tillamook County citizens, who in recent years have approved bond measures to build the new main branch of the County Library and a new campus for Tillamook Bay Community College. Our well-used Tillamook County Fairgrounds is constructing a new grandstand facility and area businesses are investing heavily in the city with new construction.

Tillamook is proud of its past and looks with anticipation to a bright future.
