At the June 1, 2015 City Council Meeting, the City Council considered and approved Resolution 1684, adjusting the sewer rates. The rate increase, scheduled for July 1, 2015 will be from the current rate of $70.25 to $73.25 per month (a 4.38% increase, rounded to the nearest twenty-five cents). The first increase since 2012, the Council decided to continue with the currently adopted rate study for 2015 (see Exhibit A for the rate study forecast). The Council opted not to raise the sewer rates in 2013 and 2014 in recognition of the economic impact to the community.
Although there is a Sewer Rate Study and suggested rating forecast in place (adopted by the Council in 2010), the Council has assigned the Finance Committee to work on further rate study and projections in conjunction with current wastewater operations, capital projects and repairs, and debt service.
