City of Tillamook Planning
The City of Tillamook Planning and Building Department is contracted through Tillamook County Community Development Department, located at 1510 Third Street, Suite B.
The City Planning Department is charged with developing and enforcing city land use and planning regulations and collecting all building and development fees for projects within the city limits.
Contract City Planner Melissa Stresing is responsible for reviewing land use applications, site plans, conditional use permits, variances, zone changes and plan amendments. She also reviews zoning permits to ensure that they comply with city ordinances and codes. Zoning permits are required for construction in the city and urban growth area. She makes recommendations to City Manager to present to the City Planning Commission, which administers land use rules and site development issues.
In the urban growth area, outside of the city limits, the City Planning Department is responsible for issuing zoning. All other building and planning functions in the Tillamook urban growth area are the responsibility of the Tillamook County Community Development Department.
